Straight answers about how I work, what I charge, and what to expect. No runaround.
// Pricing & Payment
I charge a $60 diagnostic fee upfront. Once I've figured out what's wrong, I'll tell you exactly what it is and what it'll cost to fix. If you move forward with the repair, that $60 comes straight off your bill. If you decide not to proceed, you've paid for the diagnosis and that's it — no pressure.
For custom PC builds, 100% of the parts cost is required upfront before I order a single component. This protects both of us — you're guaranteed I'm ordering exactly what was agreed on, and I'm not out of pocket for parts. The full amount is refundable within 7 calendar days from the date payment is received. Once parts are ordered, the parts cost is non-refundable. Labor is paid separately upon completion.
Cash, check, Apple Pay, and credit/debit cards via Stripe. Payment is due when the job is complete and you're happy with the work. Custom PC builds require full parts payment upfront before any parts are ordered.
No. You'll know the full cost before I touch anything. Flat rates mean flat rates — no surprise charges added after the fact. If something unexpected comes up during a repair that changes the cost, I'll stop and tell you before continuing.
// Repairs & Process
Most software repairs (virus removal, tune-ups, OS installs) are done same-day or next-day. Hardware repairs depend on parts availability. Custom builds typically take 2–5 days depending on part shipping. I'll give you a realistic timeline before we start — never a vague "a few days."
For drop-offs, walk-ins are welcome but calling or texting ahead is appreciated so I can make sure I'm available. For in-home visits, scheduling in advance is required. Call or text (386) 227-7708 or use the contact form on this site.
Hard drives, SSDs, and NVMe drives are always returned to you unless you specifically request destruction. If you want it destroyed, I drill spinning drives and torch SSDs — because no software wipe is truly unrecoverable and I take that seriously. Other parts like RAM, GPUs, and motherboards are returned if you ask. Parts that aren't claimed go toward building computers for kids who can't afford one.
I'll tell you upfront — before you've spent money on a repair that won't work. If a device is beyond economical repair, I'll say so and point you in the right direction. The $60 diagnostic fee still applies since that covers my time to assess it.
// Data & Privacy
Yes. Depending on the job I may need to access your files, but I never store your data past the completion of the job. If I back up your data during a repair, that drive gets wiped completely once the job is done. Your data never leaves the job. Any credentials you provide are destroyed upon completion — and I recommend changing passwords after service as a general precaution.
Only if the repair requires logging in to Windows or an application. You can write credentials on the Customer Intake Form rather than saying them out loud. All credentials are kept confidential and destroyed upon job completion. You should change your password after any service as a standard security practice.
// In-Home Service
$75/hr, billed in 30-minute increments, starting when I arrive. No visit fee, no service call charge. The hourly rate covers the assessment and any work done on-site. If the job needs to come back to the shop, the time I spent at your place covers the diagnosis — no separate $60 diagnostic fee on top of that.
Primarily Palm Coast and the surrounding Flagler County area. If you're outside that area, call or text and we'll work something out — I'm not going to say no to a quick drive for the right job.
Network setup and troubleshooting, router and modem configuration, WiFi optimization, device connections, smart home network setup, and general PC setup on-site. I don't run physical cables or do wiring — configuration and setup only.
